Disclaimer
Netwage shows estimates of annual income tax and payroll contributions for a simplified wage earner. They are not tax, legal or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for your pay stub, your W-2 or a tax professional.
Why your paycheck can differ
- Employers withhold using IRS Publication 15-T and your Form W-4, which can differ from your final tax. We show the annual tax you owe, spread evenly over paychecks.
- We assume no dependents, no credits, no other income, the standard deduction, and (for married filing jointly) a single earner.
- Local income taxes are excluded: for example New York City and Yonkers, Philadelphia and other Pennsylvania municipalities, Ohio cities and school districts, Maryland counties, Indiana counties, Michigan cities, Kentucky localities and Missouri's Kansas City and St. Louis earnings taxes.
- Some 2026 state amounts had not been published when we last checked and are projected; the sources page marks them.
We work to keep the numbers right, but we make no warranty that they are complete or current for your situation. Use them as a starting point.
