Data notes for Kansas
Two brackets since 2024 SB 1: 5.2% up to $23,000 ($46,000 MFJ), 5.58% above; HOH uses the single schedule. KDOR Notice 25-06: the SB 269 revenue trigger did NOT produce a rate cut for 2026, so 2024 rates continue. Standard deduction $3,605 / $8,240 / $6,180 and exemption $9,160 single/HOH, $18,320 MFJ are fixed statutory amounts (unchanged 2024-2025 booklets; 2026 third-party summary shows same). HOH gets an additional $2,320 exemption (K-40 booklet) -> HOH exemption 11,480 (dependent exemptions excluded). Not modelled: zero-tax AGI filing thresholds (single $12,765, MFJ $26,560, HOH $17,660) - in scope they never change the result because taxable income is already 0 there. PE stores the 2nd bracket threshold as 23,001/46,001 (tax-table convention); statute/booklet wording is 'over $23,000'.
