Data notes for Nebraska
Starts from federal AGI; Nebraska's own inflation-indexed standard deduction (not the federal one). 2026 rates per LB 754 (2023) phase-down: top rate 4.55% for 2026 (5.20% in 2025); PE lists 2026 brackets explicitly from the official 2026 Form 1040N-ES rate schedule (the 3rd and 4th statutory brackets both carry 4.55% in 2026, so they are merged here: lower bounds 24,760 / 49,530 / 39,620). Personal exemption credit $176 per exemption for 2026 (nonrefundable), confirmed from the Nebraska DOR 1040N-ES for 2026 in a search snippet; MFJ = 2 exemptions, HOH = filer only. Standard deduction: $8,850 single / $17,700 MFJ come from web-search snippets of third-party sites (not an official page); PE only has 2025 (8,600/17,200/12,600). HOH 2026 not found anywhere: $12,950 is DERIVED by applying the single 2025->2026 growth (8,850/8,600) to the 2025 HOH figure 12,600 and rounding down to $50 (the statute's rounding). Hence values_status=projected. No high-income phaseout of the exemption credit is modelled by PE. No employee state payroll contributions; no local income tax.
